academy_model2The Feasibility Study has reached a very exciting as well as challenging stage. Approval for planning permission for the project has now been submitted and we hope to hear the results either just before Christmas or early in the new year.

While waiting for planning permission, much work is being done by the Design Build group trying to sort out the detail of the finishes/classroom shape, lighting etc.

On 28 November we are expecting a visit from Matthew Younger, who is one of the senior ministers at Whitehall in charge of our project. I know we will all make him feel very welcome and convey to him what a Steiner education is all about.

We hope to have a shortlist of applicants for the role of Principal by the end of the day on 22 November. There has been a lot of interest in this position. If we have a shortlist, then the candidates will be asked to attend interviews on 5 and 6 December.

On the 5th they will be hosted around school and will get to meet a group of students from Classes VIII, IX and X, as well as a group of parents and teachers. The candidates will then all dine together along with the formal interview panel on the evening of the 5th. Their formal interviews will take place on 6 December.

The interview panel is the members of the PSG plus Christopher Clouder and two representatives from the government. We are clear that we will only appoint if we feel we have found the correct person. If need be we will re-advertise.

Many draft documents are going back and forth at the moment on the Funding Agreement and the new Memorandum and Articles. It is a lot of small print to read and re-read, so many thanks to Sylvie for her persistence.
